The statement, “It’s cheating, it’s fraud, but is it illegal?”, was asked by several main stream media newscasts regarding the Alaska senate race as they covered the situation.
The democrat candidate, Mary Peltola, her campaign committee and the Alaska democratic party have reportedly recruited a man with the same name as the incumbent and encouraged him to get onto the ticket in order to confuse voters and potentially syphon off votes that were intended to go for the incumbent. The reporting claims to have text messages and documents that reveal the plan and statements from a dozen people, including Peltola’s former campaign manager, that confirm it.
This is fraudulent behavior and should be illegal if it isn’t.
The democrat party’s candidate, Mary Peltola, is asking Alaska citizens to elect her to represent them in the Senate of the USA. She is asking to be placed in a position from which she can influence the laws, rules, regulations, and government agencies that will control the lives of those citizens.
Whether she was actively involved in the campaign committee’s fraudulent activity or not, if she had knowledge of it and allowed it to happen she should resign from her campaign immediately and withdraw her name from the ballot. If she had no knowledge of it but allowed it to occur within her campaign committee she should take responsibility for what happened under her watch and withdraw her candidacy.
Being a USA Senator should require being honest and trustworthy.
